Meet the Brewers event

We had a fantastic time at The Highwayman for our Meet the Brewers ‘Tap Takeover’ event on Friday, 15th March.

The evening, which coincided with Pie Week, was held in a private room at the pub, located just a few miles away from Kirkby Lonsdale.

Stu and James led the event as they talked guests through a beer tasting, complemented perfectly by delicious homemade pies.

The ticket included a tasting selection of five Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery beers, including:

• Ruskin’s
• Monumental
• Radical
• Crafty Mild
• Singletrack

To begin, guests tucked into tasty pork pies and chutney. Later followed by a steak and ale pie (made with Crafty Mild), served with mashed potato and gravy.

The informal and friendly setting meant guests had the chance to ask Stu and James any burning questions about brewing.

Stu chatted about the history behind Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery, which was established in 2019, and the interesting family connections behind Kirkby Lonsdale as a town. They also talked through the brewing process, how new flavours and styles are created and the core value of consistency that is key to success.

The event was a brilliant night and we’re looking forward to hosting many more ‘Meet the Brewers’ evenings in the future.
